Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has expressed her excitement and preparedness for the upcoming Grammy Awards.
In an interview with Cool FM Lagos, Ayra Starr shared her anticipation for the 66th Grammy Awards, where her hit single ‘Rush’ is nominated for the Best African Song Performance category.
The artist revealed that she had meticulously planned every detail, including her dress, walk, and acceptance speech for the prestigious event.
When questioned by OAP Dotun about her readiness, Ayra Starr confidently stated that she is fully prepared for the Grammy Awards ceremony.
She affirmed her commitment to the occasion where she is a first-time nominee alongside Nigerian stars Davido, Asake & Olamide, and South Africa’s Tyla, with Grammy-winner Burna Boy completing the distinguished category.
Addressing the question of what she would do after winning the Grammy, Ayra Starr humorously shared her plans to visit her favorite Chinese restaurant to savor a meal.
The singer said that following this, she intends to video call her mother to share the joyous news.
“I have my speech. I have everything done already. I already know my walk and my outfit” Ayra said in her preparations for the Grammys.
The singer revealed that in case she doesn’t win this year, she has already readied her outfit and acceptance speech for the 2025 edition and subsequent years.
The 66th Grammy Awards is scheduled to take place on February 5 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, USA, with South African comedian Trevor Noah hosting the prestigious event.
