Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, nicknamed Mr Eazi, a famous singer and entrepreneur, has disclosed how iconic Nigerian musician 2BABA, formerly 2Face, and Jamaican dancehall star Beenie Man inspired him.
He said that his catchy “Zagadat” was inspired by lyrics from 2Face’s ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix featuring Beenie Man.
Mr Eazi explained to Capital Xtra, UK, that he couldn’t have copyright issues with the slang because he didn’t say it the exact way it was said in the song.
He said, “Big shout out to Beenie Man. Beenie Man and 2Face. I got my catchphrase ‘Zagadat’ from their song ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix. From the part, ‘And the Lord say let there be light. Zagazaga za.’ That’s where it’s from, bro.
“I don’t have to give them royalties because I said, ‘Zagadat.’ I didn’t say, Zagagaza za.”
Kanyidaily recalls that Mr Real called out D’banj, Mr Eazi over alleged debt.
