Jose Mourinho, the manager of AS Roma, has just 30 days to turn around the team’s woes.
Mourinho guided the Serie A club to the UEFA Europa Conference League title in his debut season, ending a 14-year trophy drought.
The Portuguese coach also reached another European final in the following season, but two sixth-place finishes in a succession deprived them Champions League football.
Roma is now in seventh place following a terrible start to the season.
Mourinho is seen to be walking on thin ice, with Francesco Balzani reporting that the manager has one month to get them back into the top four.
His contract expires in the summer, and if the results are unfavourable, he may be denied an extension.
Roma is already contemplating Daniele de Rossi as an interim replacement. Raffaele Palladino and Vincenzo Montella are also viable options.
