Six players have been nominated for the Nigeria Premier Football League’s December Player of the Month award.
Ahmed Jimoh (Gombe United), Albert Hilary (Plateau United), Jide Fatokun (Remo Stars), Samson Obi (Abia Warriors), and Yusuf Abdullahi (Kano Pillars) are among the players shortlisted.
Abdullahi Yusuf, Kano Pillars’ in-form winger, scored five goals in Kano Pillars’ 5-2 triumph over Gombe United on matchday 11 in Kano.
Plateau United forward Albert Hilary scored six goals.
Sikiru Alimi, a veteran attacker, resumed his goal-scoring streak for Remo Stars in the league.
Alimi increased his goal total for the month to 11 goals.
Despite the state government’s lack of interest for Gombe United, Ahmed Jimoh’s performance from the midfield has not gone ignored.
This season, Jimoh has four goals for the Savannah Scorpions.
Samson Obi scored four goals for Abia Warriors throughout the month, paving the path for his nomination.
Jide Fatokun’s controlled performance in Remo Stars’ midfield has resulted in positive outcomes for the team.
He appeared in all six games for the Sky Blue Stars in their quest for their first NPFL title.
Remo Stars currently lead the league with 29 points.
The award winner will be announced next week.
