President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the establishment of a Governing Council for the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF)
To be based in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
According to a statement from presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, the MDGIF Governing Council is composed of the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas) as Chairman, Oluwole Adama as Executive Director, Joseph Tolorunshe as Governing Council Secretary, and Engr. Farouk Ahmed is the Chief Executive of NMDPRA.
The council also includes a representative from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) representative of the Federal Ministry of Finance; MDGIF Independent Member, Amina Maina (North-East); MDGIF Independent Member, Edet David Ubong (South-South); MDGIF Independent Member, Tajudeen Bolaji Musa (South-West)
The president has mandated the appointees to execute their responsibilities while upholding the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism.
This directive is in line with the administration’s efforts to enhance the role of the gas sector in achieving robust and inclusive economic growth for Nigeria.
