Tinubu Can Never Support Looting Of Public Assets- Adeleke To Osun APC Leaders 3

He responded to the allegations made by the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the recently issued White Paper.

APC leaders in the state called on President  Tinubu and security agencies to intervene and rescue the state from the alleged anarchic control of Governor Adeleke and his ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On January 18, 2024, the Osun State Government issued a White Paper on traditional rulers and the recovery of public assets allegedly taken by political appointees under the Adegboyega Oyetola administration

According to Governor Adeleke in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, “the President has always commended him for clearing the mess he met in Osun, while also emphasizing that President Tinubu abhors looting of public assets

I have interacted with President Tinubu a lot of times, and I know he appreciates my effort in cleaning the many messes I encountered in Osun

“From the actions of the President, he has shown he is a man of due process and, as such, will never support looting of public assets. It’s now unfortunate that Osun APC is showing acts that are contrary to the President’s style of governance

“Moreso, at the inception of our government, I set up an Asset Recovery Committee, with most of those with government properties alerted to the need to return them.

“It is now the report of the committee I’m acting on as demanded by the good people of the state.”

Governor Adeleke asserted his non-partisan governance, revealing that he refrained from taking political adversaries to anti-graft agencies, even when there were clear grounds for such actions.

While encouraging former administration appointees to return government properties, Adeleke cautioned that his administration would diligently pursue the recovery of all allegedly looted government assets

Kanyi Daily recalls that Ademola Adeleke, the uncle of the Afrobeats superstar Davido, had been caught on camera showing off his football skills.
