Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba has tackled a man who listed the importance of marrying a virgin on social media.
Taking to social media, the man highlighted several perceived advantages of marrying a virgin, including having no “dirty past” or trauma, a high likelihood of love, being the first in everything, having a reduced chance of cheating, and an increased possibility of a successful marriage.
Reacting to the post, Ali Baba shared real-life stories to counter the notion, citing instances where marriages to virgins did not lead to positive outcomes.
The comedian recounted the unfortunate case of his friend’s brother, who married a virgin in 2004, only to be stabbed to death by her in 2006 over suspicion of infidelity.
He also recounted another story where a man, after marrying a virgin, faced 22 or 23 years of childlessness while the lady he had left for the virgin was thriving in Houston, serving as a caregiver.
Ali Baba further narrated an incident where a man went to a village to marry an 18-year-old virgin, brought her to the city, and later discovered that the first two children she bore were fathered by their neighbor’s security man.
He wrote, “My friend’s brother married a virgin. 2004. She stabbed him to death, in 2006, because she thought he was cheating on her.
“Let’s be careful with the blanket profiling. May have come. Oh, one guy married a virgin, 22 or 23 years later after no fruit of the womb. The lady he left for the Virgin is in Houston doing Omugwuo.
“In the last story, a guy went into the village of Arondizogwu, a man goes to the village, marries an 18-year-old virgin, the lady comes to Lagos, 4 years later, her first 2 children belong to the neighbor’s security man”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Solomon Buchi, a relationship expert, had recently responded to a Twitter user who questioned the importance of marrying a virgin.
