Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has issued a warrant for the arrest of lawyer Mrs. Adachukwu Okafor.
Okafor has been accused of repeatedly abusing her teenage house help, which reportedly included burning her buttocks with a hot pressing iron.
A recently trending social media video showed Okafor’s rescued aide, revealing the young girl with severe burns and unable to walk.
She was rescued by concerned individuals after they noticed her condition
The lady lawyer was reported to have verbally attacked her neighbors and boasted that no one could arrest her for attempting to enforce discipline in her home.
However, she was said to have disappeared after the video came to the attention of the Anambra State government, who sought her arrest.
The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo in a press release she signed on Monday said: “Adachukwu Okafor stands accused of using knives and other sharp objects to inflict injuries on her 11-year-old housekeeper.
“Anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of Adachukwu Okafor will be handsomely rewarded.”
Kanyi Daily recalls that the discovery of two bodies, allegedly murdered and left in the trunk of their Toyota Corolla along the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway near Tempo Mills, Umunya, Anambra State, had triggered panic among the residents and passers-by.
