Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC,alleges that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has shown disrespect to President Bola Tinubu, particularly in light of his ongoing dispute with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Tony Okocha, the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman in the state, stated that Fubara has not upheld all the declarations made by Tinubu during the peace agreement with Wike
He made these remarks while addressing party defectors who were joining at the party’s Port Harcourt secretariat.
Okocha said: “It will amount to barefaced disobedience for Gov Siminalayi not to follow to the latter, all the 8 indices in the proclamation made by President Bola Tinubu in response to the Rivers State political crisis.
His ongoing refusal to present the Rivers State 2024 budget to the properly constituted Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Rt Hon Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker, as specified in index 6.
“The flagrant cold feet in the conduct of Local Government Elections, (see index 8), smarks of disrespect for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
“The APC Rivers, (which is Mr President‘s Party), stoutly condemns this act of disobedience perpetrated by Gov Fubara and warns against the likely concomitant fallouts.”
