Nigerian singer and co-founder of Five Star Music, Kcee has accused his former protege, Harrysong, of forging his signature to secure funds from clients.
This development follows Harrysong’s recent accusations against the 5 Star Records label, managed by Kcee and his brother E-money, that they allegedly withheld his royalties.
Harrysong in his accusations also claimed credit for writing several of Kcee’s hit songs during his tenure with the label, including “Limpopo.”
In response to these claims, Kcee addressed the matter during the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast.
He countered Harrysong’s narrative by recounting that when he won the Star Quest talent show with his former partner, Presh, and subsequently signed with Kennis Music, Harrysong was still in the village with his grandmother.
Kcee also emphasized that he released three albums with Kennis Music, raising doubts about Harrysong’s involvement in writing those songs.
He pointed out that it has been eight years since Harrysong left Five Star Music and he is still producing hits without him in the label.
Expressing concern for the former signee, Kcee suggested that Harrysong is problematic due to conflicts with his wife and former manager, Soso, and emphasized the need for prayers on his behalf.
“When I won Star Quest, Harrysong was in the village with his grandmother. I did three albums with Kennis Music, did Harrysong write those?
“Harrysong has a problem, we need to pray for him. Jokes apart, we need to pray for him,’ Kcee said.
Adding a more serious note to the situation, Kcee revealed that Harrysong is facing a criminal case related to the alleged forgery of signatures.
According to Kcee, Harrysong is accused of forging both his and his brother’s signatures to collect money from a client, and he mentioned that the criminal case is still pending.
Despite the legal implications, Kcee expressed reluctance to delve further into the matter, citing his past affection for Harrysong as a brother.
Kcee said, “For me Harrysong has a five year contract with 5 star records, and is still on as we speak.
“But he has a criminal case running now, like if I wanna bring it back now, I will… forging my signature and my brother’s signature and collecting money from a client. that’s a criminal case I have. Still pending.
But I haven’t never talked about all these, I don’t wanna talk about it. Because I know him, I loved him so much as a brother.”
