Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has issued a firm warning to Nigerians, urging them to avoid using provocative language directed at the government
In a statement by Mr. Henshaw Ogubike, the Director of Information and Public Relations for the ministry, Matawalle issued the warning in Abuja, citing concerns over reckless remarks stemming from certain quarters of the nation amidst its security challenges
“Such comments are incitive and destructive and can exacerbate tensions and lead to violence in our beloved nation,” he said.
He said that President Bola Tinubu possesses both the capacity and political determination and is tirelessly working around the clock to improve Nigeria’s security and prosperity
The minister also emphasized the various government policies aimed at reshaping and modernizing the nation’s economy, as well as safeguarding the lives, liberty, and property of the citizens.
He highlighted that the president has made the safety of citizens a top priority by ensuring the Nigerian military is well-equipped to operate effectively.
While also tasking the service chiefs with rebuilding the capacity of the security services.
“Just recently, the president approved the creation of a committee that included the state governors and federal representatives that will explore, among other things, the possibility of establishing state police that will help in checking crimes,” he added
