Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck has opened up about the tragic circumstances surrounding his father’s death, citing the family’s inability to raise N70,000 as the cause.
Odumodublvck’s revelation follows recent comments made by veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem in a podcast interview, where he claimed credit for paving the way for artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, and others in the current generation of Nigerian musicians.
Taking to his Twitter page to respond, Odumodublvck shared that when his father fell ill, they took him to the hospital for dedicated treatment.
However, due to their financial struggles, the family couldn’t afford the N70,000 required for a hospital bed, forcing them to take his father back home here he eventually passed away there.
Expressing his strong conviction that no artist paved the way for his success in the music industry, Odumodublvck acknowledged being inspired by other rappers but emphasized the role of providence over any claims of mentorship.
He wrote: “When my father died my family was poor. We could not pay hospital bed space of 70k [N70,000]. We had to take him home.
“Coming to tell me about paving the way for me? That’s God, brother. No use your ego counter reason my reality, bros. I agree say you inspire me. But bros, you pave the way for nobody. Nobody! I hate when n*ggas try to play God.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Odumodublvck recently claimed that he is in a romantic relationship, but hasn’t been in love in around six years.
