Videos shared on social media depicted the protesters chanting protest songs while security agents, including policemen, observed the situation.

Speaking to the protesters, Yakubu Garba, the Deputy Governor of Niger State, acknowledged the challenges faced by families in the country.

He assured the protesters that the government was actively working to alleviate the economic burden and reduce the impact of the petrol subsidy removal on the cost of living.
