In Kogi State, a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police and the Military has resulted in the rescue of 16 kidnapped victims.
The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP William Ovye Aya, revealed this information in a statement he provided.
Aya stated that eleven passengers from a Peace Mass Transit Bus and five others from a Sienna Bus were abducted along the Ette Enugu Ezike road on February 25, 2024, by suspected kidnappers
He said “The Joint Kogi Police and Military team from Enugu State promptly swung into action, trailed and Rescued all the victims from the bush unhurt. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects and bring them to deserved justice”.
Aya also stated that Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, commended the joint security team and reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to sustain the ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the state.
He urged the residents of the state to continue collaborating with the Police and other security agencies to ensure the adequate security of lives and property.
