Nollywood actress, Eberechukwu Bayray Nwizu, has revealed the prerequisites for actresses to get movie roles from some producers in the Nigerian movie industry.
During her appearance on TVC’s “Wake Up Nigeria” program, Nwizu claims that actresses need to undergo a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) to secure roles in Nollywood.
The actress acknowledged the advancements in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in terms of capital and infrastructure.
She, however, expressed concern over a decline in the recognition of raw talent, noting that producers are now inclined towards social media influencers who can effectively promote their projects.
Nwizu emphasized the industry’s shift towards beauty standards, stating, “Ten years ago, it was you’re not fair enough, you’re not tall enough, you’re not full enough; now it’s you don’t have BBL.”
The actress acknowledged the necessity for producers to generate profits but stressed the importance of maintaining a balance.
In response to this growing trend of BBL requirement, Nwizu encouraged aspiring actresses not to conform to such standards.
She suggested leveraging streaming platforms to create and showcase their content, emphasizing that there are now alternative avenues to pursue a successful acting career without adhering to specific physical requirements imposed by some producers.
“The good news is that now you don’t have to conform to them. You can take advantage of any of the streaming platforms, start creating your own content, and grow.
“We don’t have any excuses anymore. There are always going to be those who say, you have to do this to be in my movie,” she said.
KanyiDaily recalls that actor Odunlade Adekola who is married with four kids, was accused of allegedly sleeping with upcoming actresses for a movie role.
