Nigerian singer, Portable has made an appeal to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for forgiveness regarding any instances where he was seen spraying money.
This plea follows the EFCC’s filing of a three-count charge against a businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, for alleged abuse of the Naira.
During an Instagram live session on Tuesday, Portable apologized to the EFCC and pledged to cease spraying money.
The singer also urged his followers to open bank accounts, expressing his intention to transfer funds to his supporters and those in need directly to their bank accounts.
Portable said, “I use my money to build love. I used my money to build relationships. Did I spray money at the club? I was spraying money in the area where they need me.
“I didn’t deface the naira, I help a lot of people, After God na Government, Please forgive me if you have videos of me spraying money, no more spraying of money.”
This appeal comes in the wake of Bobrisky, a crossdresser, being sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse.
Cubana Chief Priest was also arraigned on April 17 before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
The EFCC has recently announced an investigation into several celebrities suspected of involvement in Naira abuse.
