Nollywood actor, Jerry Amilo has issued an apology for sharing a video of the late actor Junior Pope Odonwodo‘s body following his tragic demise in a boat accident.

KanyiDaily recalls that Junior Pope, 39, died in a boat accident on Wednesday, April 10, after attempts to resuscitate him proved unsuccessful.

The accident occurred during their return from filming Adanma Luke’s movie “Another Side of Life” in the River Niger region in Anambra State, where Junior Pope and several crew members lost their lives.

Jerry Amilo faced backlash for posting a video from the hospital where Junior Pope’s death was announced.

The video showed Jerry Amilo and Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) national president, Emeka Rollas viewing Junior Pope’s remains on Wednesday night.

Some celebrities and fans criticizes the actor for the video, accusing him of chasing clout and seeking attention with the video.

Due to the public outcry, Jerry Amilo promptly removed the video from his Instagram page and apologised for his actions.

In a subsequent video, Amilo expressed remorse for sharing Junior Pope’s video, explaining that his intention was to clarify misconceptions surrounding the actor’s death.

Jerry Amilo explained that amidst the confusion on social media, he received numerous inquiries about Junior Pope’s condition, prompting him to release the video to provide clarity.

He emphasized that his motive was not to seek attention but to offer clarification during a tense and uncertain time.

Meanwhile, AGN president, Emeka Rollas has declared an immediate ban on actors and actresses from participating in Adanma Luke’s movies until further notice.
