Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa Amihere has broken her silence for the first time since a sεx tape involving was leaked online.
A private video recently surfaced on social media depicting Serwaa Amihere engaging in sexual activity with a man identified as Henry Fitz.
Online speculation suggested that the video was filmed in 2019, long before Fitz’s marriage.
However, some sources alleged that Amihere attended Fitz’s wedding as a guest and later engaged in an affair with him.
This has sparked widespread outrage, leading to derogatory comments and ridicule directed at Amihere due to her social status.
Reacting in a post shared on her social media pages, Serwaa Amihere apologized for the video, revealing that she had been subjected to months of blackmail before the sεx tape was leaked.
The media personality expressed deep regret for the embarrassment caused to herself, her family, and her professional associations.
She wrote, “On April 2, 2024, someone posted an intimate video of me on the internet. This came almost 5 months after threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book”.
“The video which was made 5 years ago has severely embarrassed me, my family, and my loved ones. It has also exposed my employers and the businesses and brands I represent to embarrassment”.
“Additionally, the video has been a source of frustration to all who have been my support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout my journey in the media.”
Amihere acknowledged the impact of the leaked video on both her personal and professional lives and apologized for the consequences, stressing that she has learned from her past mistakes.
“At the time, 5 years ago, I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potential, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society.
“Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration that this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you.
“In all, I have learnt deeply useful lessons for the future,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Ghana authorities are investigating three people for allegedly spreading the aforementioned video.
This comes a few days after Tiwa Savage claimed that she paid an IT expert to delete her leaked sεx tape from the internet and people’s mobile phones.
