The 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) kicked off on Friday night with a bang, starting off with the vibrant Cultural Day event.
This marks the beginning of a series of exciting activities leading up to the grand Award Night on Saturday.
The attendees graced the occasion in stunning traditional attire, showcasing a beautiful fusion of African heritage and the glitz of the film awards.
Standing out among the celebrities on Friday were the likes of the Akpofures (Neo and Venita), popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, media personality Symply Tacha, Kunle Remi, OAP DOTUN, and many others.
The AMVCA, an annual award hosted by Multichoice, aims to honor outstanding achievements in television, film, entertainment, and digital content creation across Nollywood and the entire African continent.
The AMVCA ceremony, taking place in Lagos, will be broadcast live on all Africa Magic channels.
The nominations for the 10th edition of the AMVCA were unveiled recently, featuring a range of categories including Best Writing Movie, Best Documentary, Best MultiChoice Talent Factory, Best Scripted, Best Digital Content, Best Unscripted M-Net Original, and more.
Winners will be determined through a combination of public voting and evaluation by a panel of judges.
The 10th AMVCA will witness winners emerge from 25 categories, comprising 16 non-voting, nine audience voting categories, and recipients of two special recognition awards – the Lifetime Achievement and Trailblazer Awards.
