Nigerian singer, Oritsefemi has revealed that his ex-wife, Nabila Fash, asked him to marry her because of the influence of Nollywood actress, Caroline Danjuma.
The singer claimed that Caroline Danjuma, also known as Carolyna Hutchings, was legally married to Tagbo Umeike, a friend of Afrobeats star Davido, before Tagbo’s death.
Oritse Femi, who disclosed this in an interview with journalist Chude Jideonwo, explained that Caroline had a court wedding with Tagbo and then advised Nabila to do the same with him, seeing his bright future.
The singer said Nabila asked him to marry her after they had been through several miscarriages and other challenges. He agreed to the marriage because of their shared struggles.
He said, “I told my ex-wife that I only need a baby boy. That was our agreement. I never intended to marry her. It was Caroline Danjuma. Caroline went and did a court wedding with the late Tagbo.
“After the wedding, she told Nabila that she had married Tagbo and urged her to make sure I marry her.
“It was Caroline who advised Nabila to get married to me. She said I am a rough diamond and that Nabila’s success was lying on me. So that was it. When she asked me that she wanted to marry me, I accepted because she had had about three miscarriages for me.”
