Nigerian singer, Simi has shared the reason behind naming her highly anticipated collaboration with a colleague, Tiwa Savage ‘Men Are Crazy’.
In an interview on Way Up With Angela Yee, Simi addressed the buzz surrounding the title, revealing that she initially chose not to explain its meaning, preferring to let the song speak for itself upon release.
The singer expressed confidence that the track would effectively convey its message without needing additional explanation.
“I honestly wasn’t going to go on an explaining spree at the time. I was like when the song comes out they will see what I’m trying to say,” she explained.
Acknowledging the online reaction to the title, Simi noted that it heightened anticipation for the song’s release, contributing to its rollout strategy.
She also highlighted Tiwa’s role in softening the song’s message through her lyrics, particularly citing the line “Men are crazy but I still want one in my bed”, which originally was more straightforward with just “men are crazy”.
Released a month ago, ‘Men are Crazy’ marks the first collaboration between Simi and Tiwa Savage, representing a significant moment for female collaborations in Afrobeats.
KanyiDaily recalls that Simi, whose real name is Simisola Kosoko, recently shared her perspective on why intending couples should cohabit before marriage.
