The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and socialite Cubana Chief Priest have agreed to resolve the Naira abuse case outside of court.

Cubana Chief Priest appeared at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos on Thursday, May 2, for the continuation of his trial.

This follows the EFCC filing a three-count charge against him on April 16, alleging Naira abuse.

Upon his arraignment the next day, Cubana Chief Priest pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Subsequently, Judge Kehinde Ogundare granted him bail in the sum of N10 million, requiring two responsible sureties to fulfill the conditions within seven days.

The social media personality was released into the custody of his lawyer, who provided an undertaking to ensure his appearance in court.

The trial was adjourned to May 2 for further proceedings.

During the trial on Thursday, May 2,, both the EFCC and Cubana Chief Priest mutually agreed to settle the matter out of court.

As a result, the trial was adjourned to June 5 for the hearing of the settlement report.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Cubana Chief Priest took to his Instagram page to acknowledge the challenges he’s faced, cautioning Nigerians to steer clear of EFCC entanglements.

He emphasized the seriousness of settling with the EFCC and urged others to avoid the stress he’s enduring.

The celebrity barman wrote: “Court day!!! Problem No Good Oh, @officialefcc No Dey Joke Oh!!!Better Stay Away From Their Wahala, I’m SUre You Will Not Love To Pass Through This Kinda Stress I’m Passing Through.”
