A Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail three weeks after he was charged with cyberstalking and bullying on May 22, 2024.
VeryDarkMan was released from police custody on Monday, June 10, after meeting his bail conditions, though the details of these conditions are not yet clear.

VeryDarkMan was charged with five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike, to which he pleaded not guilty.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, applied for bail, but the police requested more time to respond, leading to a bail hearing delay until May 29.
The prosecution wanted VeryDarkMan to be remanded in prison, but his lawyers argued for him to stay in police custody instead.
The court agreed, and the social media activist was taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.
KanyiDaily recalls that VeryDarkMan recently accused skitmaker Carter Efe of being abusive towards his girlfriend, Nuella.
