Lautaro Martinez scored in extra time to give Argentina a 1-0 victory over Colombia in the Copa America final on Sunday, securing their record 16th title.
The match, held at the Hard Rock Stadium, was delayed by 82 minutes due to crowd trouble involving unruly fans without tickets.
The game saw Argentina captain Lionel Messi exit in the second half due to an ankle injury, leaving him visibly upset on the bench.
It was an emotional farewell for Angel Di Maria, playing his final match for the national team.
Colombia, who won their only Copa America title in 2001, struggled throughout the match, failing to capitalize on early chances.
Despite initial chaos at the stadium gates and interruptions due to the delayed kickoff, the match eventually proceeded.
Martinez’s decisive goal came in the 112th minute, set up by Leandro Paredes and Giovani Lo Celso, sealing Argentina’s victory in a hard-fought and tense final.
