The protesters’ decision to continue on Monday came after a statement from the organizers, signed by Hassan Taiwo, Ayoyinka Oni, and Adegboyega Adeniji, which criticized Tinubu’s address for not meeting their demands.

They expressed disappointment that it took Tinubu three days of protest before addressing the nation.

In his Sunday broadcast, President Tinubu promised to listen to the protesters’ concerns and called for an end to the protests to allow for dialogue.

He emphasized that he had heard their calls “loud and clear” and urged the organizers to suspend the protests.

The organizers saw Tinubu’s address as a partial victory but criticized him for offering dialogue while also calling for the protests to end.

They argued that the president’s actions seemed contradictory, saying, “The President cannot offer an olive branch while at the same time holding a dagger to our throat.”

They also condemned attacks on protesters by thugs during Sunday morning worship and called on all the youths and citizens to join them at the park on Monday for Day 5 of the protest.
