Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane has issued an apology to his fans and fellow Nigerians after being released from prison for defaming his colleague Davido.

On August 21, 2024, Dammy Krane claimed that if anything happened to him, Davido should be held accountable, alleging that the singer used the police to falsely arrest him.

He stated he was “arrested and oppressed for seeking justice” and accused Davido of making false claims against him to protect his own interests.

On August 28, social media influencer VeryDarkMan confirmed that Davido was behind Dammy Krane’s arrest due to allegations that he was involved in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike.

VeryDarkMan also revealed that he visited Dammy Krane at the police station and pleaded with Davido to forgive him.

After his release, Dammy Krane appeared in a viral video thanking everyone for their support and apologizing to Davido for his past accusations regarding Tagbo’s death.

On August 30, Dammy Krane also took to X to express his regrets and outline his plans for moving forward.

He wrote, “I am sorry about everything, to my fans (I hope I still have fans lol). To my fans, if I still have, I am sorry. Moving on, expect good music from me and music only #lovealwaysleads.”

Dammy Krane also apologized to Nigerians for the negativity he had put out on social media, acknowledging that he fell short of their expectations and expressing his wish to make amends.

He wrote, “I want to apologize to Nigerians for the negative energy I have put up on the media before today. I know a lot was expected of me but I messed up. I wish I could take back the hand of time, but only God can, so I will do what I can, which is to apologize.”
