Federico Valverde and newcomer Kylian Mbappé scored for Real Madrid to secure the team’s sixth UEFA Super Cup title.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti also made history as the first manager to win the competition five times.

Real Madrid’s attacking lineup, with Mbappé making his debut, controlled the game early on while Atalanta struggled to keep up.

Despite a few threats from Atalanta, including a close call when Isak Hien blocked Mbappé’s shot, Real Madrid created several chances.

A delivery from Valverde almost reached Vinícius Júnior, but Atalanta managed to defend well.

Atalanta began to push forward, with Éder Militão deflecting a shot onto the post and Antonio Rüdiger stopping Ademola Lookman’s run.

Jude Bellingham also had a near miss. In the final moments of the first half, Vinícius Júnior set up Rodrygo, but his shot hit the crossbar.

In the second half, Real Madrid increased their intensity. Mbappé missed an early chance, but Thibaut Courtois made a key save on Mario Pašalić’s header.

In the 59th minute, Bellingham’s pass set up Valverde for the opening goal. Nine minutes later, Mbappé scored his first goal for Real Madrid, making it 2-0.

Atalanta tried hard but couldn’t break through as Real Madrid held on to their lead and secured their first trophy of the season.

The team’s attacking play was impressive, and if they continue like this, they will be a strong contender in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Atalanta put up a good fight but fell short, extending Italy’s wait for a Super Cup win since 2007.
