Philip Shaibu, the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, has returned to his office and directed his staff to do the same.
Shaibu warned banks against conducting transactions with the Office of the Deputy Governor without his approval, stating such actions would be illegal.
In a video message shared on his X page, Shaibu instructed any staff who have not yet resumed work to do so immediately or face consequences.
He emphasized that the Federal High Court’s judgement, which reinstated him, confirmed that his office was never vacant.
Philip Shaibu also expressed sorrow over the killing of a police officer assigned to the Edo APC governorship candidate for the upcoming September 21 election.
This incident occurred upon Shaibu’s return to Edo State after the court ruling. He mentioned that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Furthermore, Shaibu noted that he had formally requested the governor’s approval for the reinstatement of his aides but has not yet received a response.
