The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
According to Vanguard, Joe Ajaero was arrested by DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The NLC president was picked up this morning, September 9 as he was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official trip.
While the exact reasons for his arrest are still unclear, sources say he has been transferred to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Ajaero was reportedly on his way to attend a Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference in the UK scheduled for today.
His arrest follows just a week after he was summoned by the police to address allegations of involvement in terrorism financing.
KanyiDaily recalls that the NLC mobilized support for Joe Ajaero after he was summoned by the police.
