Anugbum Onuoha, Edo State’s resident electoral commissioner (REC), has assured voters that election results will be transmitted electronically rather than the normal counting methods.
Speaking on Arise Television on Saturday, Onuoha said that the election process is well-prepared, with backup plans in place if necessary.
“Results will be uploaded to IReV if there are no network issues,” the REC said
He also explained that BVAS will be used to accredit voters, ensuring the correct number of voters at each polling unit.
The Edo 2024 election, which is taking place under heavy security, has begun with officials starting the accreditation process.
Anugbum Onuoha vowed to deliver an election that people can genuinely call their own.
