Gospel singer Dele Agbeyo, widely known as Dele Gold, has died.
Dele Gold, who called himself the “Miliki Gospel King,” reportedly passed away following a short illness on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The singer was originally from Usi in Ekiti State but spent his early years in Faforiji, Osun State.
His death was confirmed by several of his fellow musicians, including Titi Oguntoyinbo, Akinlabi Major, Alayo Melody Singer, and Wonder Doyin Kujore, who all expressed their grief on social media.
Titi Oguntoyinbo wrote on Facebook, “Lord, this is a rude shock to me, hmmm.”
Akinlabi Major posted, “Let someone tell me this is not true. RIP Dele Gold.”
On Instagram, Alayo Melody Singer shared his disbelief: “Dele Gold Kee??? Ahh, this is getting too much ooo!!! May God help us stop untimely deaths. Dele Agbeyo, may your soul rest well.”
Wonder Doyin Kujore shared his thoughts on Facebook, writing, “Nothing is in this world; let us live today and leave tomorrow for God. I find it difficult to post about people who die prematurely because it saddens my heart, but I just have to pay my last respects here. Hmm… this life is full of vanity. Rest on, Dele Agbotikuyo, Dele Gold.”
Dele Gold was known for his collaboration with Juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey on an album released in 2019.
His death comes only a month after the passing of fellow gospel singer Aduke Ajayi, known as Aduke Gold, who died while receiving treatment for cervical cancer.
