Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML has expressed his admiration for veteran artist Wande Coal, crediting him for playing a major role in his musical journey.
During an episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast, Fireboy revealed that Wande Coal inspired him to pursue a music career.
The Peru hitmaker said that he feels like a child whenever he’s around Wande Coal and described their first meeting as a dream come true.
He said: “It was a dream at first meeting Wande Coal. I become a child when he is around. He is a legend. So that [meeting him] was a blessing and a surreal moment.”
Fireboy DML recently honored the singer with a tribute track titled “Wande’s Song” on his fourth album, Adedamola.
