Former US First Lady, Melania Trump has spoken out in defense of her nude modeling past as part of the promotion for her upcoming memoir.
The 54 years old ex-model shared her thoughts on her Instagram page on Wednesday, reflecting on her career.
In a voiceover, Melania Trump asked, “Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?”
She continued by questioning why the media has been so critical of her choice to showcase the human form through fashion photography.
“The more pressing question is, why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?”
“Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?” the former first lady asked.
She added, “Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration.
“We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”
Her voice played over images of renowned nude artworks, such as Michelangelo’s “David,” Paul Cézanne’s “Bathers,” and John Collier’s “Lady Godiva.”
