American rapper, Curtis Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent, has revealed that he declined a $3 million offer to join former President Donald Trump at a New York rally.
Speaking on The Breakfast Club, 50 Cent explained that while he has previously shared some positive comments about Trump, he prefers to avoid political engagements.
50 Cent disclosed that he was approached to perform his song “Many Men (Wish Death)” at the Republican National Convention for $3m.
This track, which he wrote after surviving a shooting in 2000, has recently gained popularity among Trump supporters.
Despite the lucrative offer, 50 Cent said he didn’t seriously consider it because he’s afraid of politics, adding that getting involved in politics often brings backlash from those who disagree.
He said, “I didn’t even go far… I didn’t talk to them about that kinda stuff. I’m afraid about politics. It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you.”
