Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has revealed that he’s been receiving threats after deciding to take legal action against activist, VeryDarkMan.
KanyiDaily recalls that VeryDarkMan shared a recording in which Bobrisky, the famous crossdresser, alleged that Falana and his son, rapper Falz, contacted him during her six-month prison sentence for naira abuse.
In the audio, Bobrisky claimed Falz spoke to him in prison and that both he and his father tried to secure a presidential pardon for him in exchange for ₦10 million.
While Bobrisky has denied the recording and threatened to sue VeryDarkMan for defamation, Falana and Falz have also warned they will pursue legal action unless the activist retracts his comments and apologizes.
In a recent interview with Sahara Reporters, Femi Falana disclosed that some individuals have threatened to burn his office and kill his daughter over the case.
He described these threats as troubling but made it clear that he is not intimidated.
The lawyer also revealed that he has initiated a thorough response to the threats, stressing his commitment to tackling the situation head-on and ensuring that justice is served.
Falana said, “The only disturbing area in this scenario is the threat to me and one of my two daughters.”
“Some of these guys, who I believe are mentally deranged, had dared me saying, ‘If you go to court, we shall burn your office’. They have also sent messages to one of my daughters that ‘If your father goes to court, we shall kill you.’
“I beg your pardon, in this country? I just laughed, and I asked my girl not to worry; I will take it up. I have already taken it up. We must also let these guys know where we are coming from.”
