Richard Adamu Tallen, the only son of Dame Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, has passed away.
The family shared the sad news in a statement on Sunday, confirming that Richard, who was 42 years old, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The deceased had been admitted to Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja.
The statement said that while the exact cause of his death wasn’t immediately clear, Richard had been placed on oxygen in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Friday night.
The Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA), where Richard was an alumnus, also confirmed his passing, noting that he died in Abuja after a brief illness.
VOBA expressed their condolences in a Facebook post, writing: “OBITUARY: On a very sad note we regret to announce the sudden passing of our Member, Mr Richard Adamu Tallen.
“He passed on on Saturday 5th October in Abuja after a brief illness, leaving behind a beloved Family including his Wife & Children. Burial arrangements will be announced by the Family.
“Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him, may the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA RIP. Amen”
Richard Adamu Tallen was a computer science graduate from a university in the United States and is survived by his wife and three children.
