Nigerian rapper and singer Chibuzor Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno, hosted an exclusive album listening party for his much-anticipated fifth studio album, ”Full Time Job”.
The event took place on Thursday, 3rd October, 2024 at ”The Listening Room” at Landmark Tower in Victoria Island, Lagos, where the 37-year-old Igbo rap sensation reflected on his journey and shared what makes this project stand out from his previous works.
The star-studded gathering saw the attendance of some of Nigeria’s most influential entertainment personalities, including fellow music stars Timaya and Cheque, renowned DJ Crowd Kontroller, music executive Jude Okoye, comedian Ushbebe, nightlife king Cubana Chief Priest, and top music producers, managers, and industry insiders.
Phyno took the stage to express his pride in the album, calling it his “best work yet.” For months, the rapper had teased fans with hints and snippets from Full Time Job, building an aura of anticipation around the project. During his speech, Phyno revealed that this album contains a deeper, more personal side of him—one that fans may not have fully experienced before.
“This album is a masterpiece that did not happen by chance. It reflects my daily experiences and the sacrifices I’ve made in my career. Every song is a piece of my journey,” Phyno shared. “That’s why I don’t release music every year. I need new experiences before I make music.”

”Full Time Job”, consisting of 15 carefully curated tracks, showcases collaborations with some of the hottest names in the global music scene, including UK rapper ArrDee on Time of My Life, as well as Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy, Flavour, and Johnny Drille. One of the more surprising features comes from controversial figure Hushpuppi, whose involvement has already sparked lively debates online. Other artists featured on the album include Cheque, Emaodiaa, Chip, FAVE, and the collective NSG.
As Phyno reflected on his creative process, he emphasized how this album stands as a testament to his personal and professional growth.
“Where I was in 2019 or 2021 is not where I am now. So, I feel blessed, and it’s probably my best one yet. I’m excited for people to hear this piece of me that they haven’t really heard before,” he added.
The atmosphere at the listening party was vibrant, as guests mingled, shared laughs, and soaked in the cultural experience. Phyno’s unique fusion of Igbo rap and Afrobeat rhythms was on full display, further solidifying his place as a creative force in the Nigerian music industry.
With ”Full Time Job”, Phyno reaffirms his commitment to his craft, offering a body of work that not only captures his evolution as an artist but also showcases his dedication to music as a lifelong journey.
