Sean “Diddy” Combs, American hip-hop mogul who was arrested last month following a federal grand jury indictment, is now facing additional allegations of sexual misconduct.
On Tuesday, attorney Tony Buzbee from Texas announced during a press conference that he is representing 120 people accusing Diddy of misconduct over the past 20 years.
Noting that he expects to file lawsuits in the next month, Buzbee explained that the accusers include 60 males and 60 females, with 25 of them being minors at the time of the alleged incidents.
Buzbee expressed shock at the extent of the claims, noting that the youngest alleged victim was just nine years old at the time.
He said, “It’s shocking. Our youngest victim at the time of the occurrence was nine years old. We have an individual who was 14 years old.
“The conduct at issue spans from the years 1991 all the way till this year, 2024. If you wonder why there are so many alleged victims. That’s your answer. We’re talking about more than 25 years of this type of conduct.”
The attorney added that many of the alleged incidents took place at social gatherings, including album release parties, holiday celebrations, and other events such as the “all-white party” and the “puppy party.”
Buzbee also said that some of the misconduct happened at well-known venues in New York City, private residences, and hotels.
He stated that more than half of the victims had reported the incidents to the police or sought medical attention.
Buzbee vowed to expose those who enabled the behavior and hold them accountable, regardless of who is implicated.
He said, “We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates.
“The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, that really wasn’t a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world. The wall of silence has now been broken.”
“Many powerful people … many dirty secrets,” the lawyer said, adding that his legal team has gathered evidence such as photos, videos, and text messages.
The allegations include violent sexual assault, drug-facilitated sex, distribution of explicit videos, and the abuse of minors.
Buzbee said that they are thoroughly investigating each claim and emphasized that the revelations to come will be shocking.
The attorney said that over 3,000 people have come forward with accusations against Diddy, and lawsuits will be filed in several states within the next 30 days. He plans to name additional defendants later.
Of the new group of accusers, Buzbee shared that 62% identify as African American, and they come from more than 25 states, primarily New York, California, Georgia, and Florida.
The lawyer reiterated that 25 accusers were minors at the time, with one being as young as nine.
In response to the mounting allegations, Combs’ lawyer, Erica Wolff, issued a statement denying the claims.
She described the accusations as false and defamatory, insisting that Combs never engaged in sexual abuse, including of minors. Wolff stated that Combs is eager to prove his innocence in court.
“As Mr. Combs’ legal team has emphasized, he cannot address every meritless allegation in what has become a reckless media circus. That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors,” the rapper’s lawyer, Erica Wolff, said in a statement.
“He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court if and when claims are filed and served, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his legal team, including new attorney Alexandra Shapiro, is preparing to appeal the denial of his bail.
Diddy’s issues escalated last year after his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, accused him of assault and sex trafficking in a civil lawsuit, which was settled for an undisclosed amount.
Since then, other lawsuits, including one from singer Dawn Richard, have followed.
Combs has denied all allegations, dismissing them as attempts to exploit him for financial gain.
Many of the lawsuits have been filed in New York under a law allowing claims of sexual abuse even after the statute of limitations has passed.
