Nigerian artist, Burna Boy has addressed the backlash surrounding rapper Speed Darlington’s recent arrest and subsequent release on bail after three weeks in detention.
KanyiDaily recalls that Speed Darlington’s lawyer Stanley Alieke recently announced that the rapper had been granted bail, three weeks after he was arrested during a performance in Owerri, Imo State.
Reacting to the backlash trailing Darlington’s arrest, Burna Boy expressed frustration, stating that while others can voice their opinions without consequence, his reactions often escalate into what he described as a “nuclear disaster.”
The musician also hinted at his self-restraint, noting that many are fortunate he now has much to lose, implying that without such constraints, the outcomes would be severe.
He wrote, “When they talk, nobody cares, but when I react, it’s a Nuclear disaster. Y’all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now. Walahi a lot of you would not be here no more. Anyway, make I just go buy another thing relax”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Nigerian police were reportedly pressuring Speed Darlington to record a public apology video for Burna Boy.
