American rapper and entrepreneur, Shawn Carter, popularly known as Jay Z, has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl along with his colleague, Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2000.
A lawsuit filed on Sunday, December 8, accuses Jay-Z and Diddy of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, following an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
The accuser, referred to as “Jane Doe,” claims the assault occurred after she was driven to a party by a limousine driver working for Diddy.
Initially filed in October 2024, the lawsuit named Diddy as the only defendant. However, it was updated on Sunday to include Jay-Z as well.
The Texas attorney representing the accuser, Tony Buzbee, has not commented on the matter.
The lawsuit claims that in 2000, when ‘Jane Doe’ was 13, Diddy and Jay Z raped her at a house party after the MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
It claims that the victim was dropped off at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall by a friend. She didn’t have a ticket and tried to get into the show or an after-party by speaking with various limousine drivers.
One driver, according to the lawsuit, said he worked for Combs and told her she “fit what Diddy was looking for.” He invited her to a party after the event and asked her to return to his car later after taking Combs and Carter to their destination.
Later, the driver picked her up and drove her for about 20 minutes before arriving at a house with a U-shaped driveway. Upon arrival, she was asked to sign what she believed was a nondisclosure agreement to attend the party but wasn’t given a copy.
The lawsuit claims the party was filled with celebrities and people using marijuana and cocaine.
She was given a drink that made her feel lightheaded and unwell, prompting her to go into a room to rest. Shortly after, Combs and Carter entered the room. Combs allegedly said, “You are ready to party!”
The lawsuit then claims Carter removed her clothes, held her down, and raped her while Combs and an unnamed female celebrity watched. She further alleged that Combs raped her as well while Carter and the woman observed.
The lawsuit states that she managed to resist being forced into oral sex by striking Combs in the neck, causing him to stop.
After the alleged assault, the woman gathered her clothes and left the house. She went to a nearby gas station where she called her father.
The accuser is seeking unspecified damages under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
In their responses, Jay Z called the allegations “idiotic” in a lengthy statement Sunday evening while Diddy’s legal team has dismissed the accusations as “publicity stunts” designed to exploit celebrities.
KanyiDaily recalls that Diddy is already facing criminal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking, with a trial scheduled for May 2024. He remains in jail after being denied bail.
