The #GreaterLagosCountdown2025 was a free event that attracted thousands of attendees, celebrating the end of the year in Lagos with music and festivities.

The incident happened when a fan unexpectedly climbed onto the stage during Burna Boy’s performance on Tuesday night.

Security quickly intervened, escorting the fan away, but the interruption led Burna Boy to exit the stage, sparking mixed reactions from the audience.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2024, the 33-year-old singer addressed the situation via an Instagram Story, offering his side of the story.

Burna Boy clarified that the event was a free show and that he had already performed well beyond the 10 minutes originally scheduled for him.

The singer also revealed that he experiences PTSD, which made the fan’s sudden action of jumping on stage particularly startling for him.

“It was a free show. I was supposed to do 10mins and did almost an hour. Everybody knows my rule about getting on stage and startling me when I’m performing. I had an amazing time with Lagos state last night. Don’t jump on my stage like that. I got PTSD. I love you all. Happy New Year,” he wrote.
