Nigerian gospel artist, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect, Donald Trump.
The prayer breakfast, a tradition held every four years before the presidential inauguration, is set to take place on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The event, hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, is a faith-centered gathering that brings together religious leaders and dignitaries from around the world to offer prayers and worship for the president and the nation’s government.
Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, widely known for leading the global worship movement “Hallelujah Challenge,” announced the invitation on Instagram.
Sharing the event flyer, he wrote, “Let’s raise a sound in America. And let the King of Glory come in. See you. 20th January, 2025
“The Presidential Prayer Breakfast is a non-official and non-governmental event. It is a faith-based platform where intercessory prayers and worship are offered to God on behalf of the office of the president and the government of the nation.

Reverend Turner will host the event at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. Other featured speakers include Pastor Mario Bramick and Avelda King.
In 2024, Pastor Bassey was honored by Kathy Sheehan, the 75th Mayor of Albany, New York, who declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day.” This recognition highlights his influence as a gospel minister and worship leader.
Known for hits like *Imela*, *Onise Iyanu*, and *Olowogbogboro*, Bassey’s music combines genres such as jazz, hymns, and medleys, earning him a prominent place in Nigeria’s gospel music scene.
