Former Real Madrid star, Roberto Carlos is reportedly facing the possibility of losing over £133 million in a divorce battle with his wife, Mariana Luccon.
It was gathered that the couple, married since 2009, is now entangled in a legal fight over Carlos’ substantial fortune, estimated at £133 million.
Amid the ongoing dispute, the 51-year-old football legend has temporarily moved into Real Madrid’s training facility, the Sports City in Valdebebas, as his wife of 15 years remains at their main residence.
Roberto Carlos and Mariana share two daughters, Manuela and Mariana, but their relationship has come to an end, according to reports by “Estadio Deportivo”.
The divorce proceedings are expected to be complex due to Carlos’ wealth, estimated at around €160 million (£133 million).
Compounding the situation, Carlos’ in-laws are said to be occupying his second property, prompting him to take up residence at the club’s training ground.
During his football career, Carlos spent 11 years with Real Madrid from 1996 to 2007, securing four La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies. He has since returned to the club as an ambassador while dealing with personal challenges.
The former World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002 made headlines in the past when he revealed he has 11 children with seven different women.
