Nigerian guitarist, Fiokee is mourning the tragic loss of his sister, Ememe Effang, who allegedly died due to domestic violence.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, Fiokee expressed deep sorrow, revealing that he was unaware of the abuse she endured because she never spoke about it.
The guitarist urged those in abusive relationships to break their silence, acknowledging the fear that often prevents victims from seeking help but warning that staying quiet can have fatal consequences.
He emphasized that while justice will be served, no punishment can bring his sister back, vowing to always remember her.
Fiokee, however, hopes that by sharing her story, he can help others escape similar situations before it’s too late.
He wrote, “My heart is shattered. I can’t believe I’m writing this, but my sister is gone. She was taken from us by someone who claimed to love her. I had no idea she was suffering in silence. She never spoke about the abuse, and now it’s too late”.
“If you are in an abusive relationship, please, I beg you, speak up. I know it’s not easy. I know fear can make you stay quiet. But silence can be deadly. There are people who care, people who will help you. Please don’t wait until it’s too late”.
“Justice will take its course, but no amount of punishment will bring my sister back. If this message can save even one life, then her death will not be in vain”.
“Rest in peace, my love. I will miss you forever. 💔 Emrich Effanga”.
KanyiDaily recalls that Tuokpe Onuwaje, the ex-wife of self-proclaimed Nigerian preacher Reno Omokri, also accused him of domestic violence during their failed marriage.
