Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck has publicly called on Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to support his upcoming album.
Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, argued that he had supported Obi during the 2023 general elections.
Taking to his official X handle on Thursday, April 3, the Abuja-born artist reminded Obi of his past loyalty, claiming he backed him with “sweat and blood” and now expects the same energy in return as he prepares to release his music project, “The Machine”.
In his first post, he directly addressed the politician: “@PeterObi hello Mr Peter Obi. I support you that year. Oya support me now. Oya do video dey talk The Machine is coming. Abeg. Me and you never ever get problem before. Make e no start now.”
Not long after, he followed up with a more frustrated tweet: “The time wey I support Peter Obi na with sweat and blood. If he cannot give me a ‘common’ tweet, then me and am go fight. I no dey hide my mouth. Make una dey talk una own. The Machine is coming.”
Odumodublvck also reminded Obi of the risks he took for him, including dissing the current president, Bola Tinubu, in his music.
“@PeterObi I even dissed Tinubu for you. Now because of you, the people are spitting on me and my legacy. Tweet The Machine is coming to rekindle and redeem our friendship, sir. Do not listen to them. Listen to your heart. The Machine is coming,” he insisted.
In another post, the rapper ramped up the pressure, warning that he would cut ties with Obi if he didn’t promote his album:
He added, “On today’s episode of Wage War – the people of Peter Obi vs the Industry Machine. Go and ask around, I have never lost a war. Peter Obi has lost an election. There is only one winner here. Tell that man to promote my album or else I will cut ties with him with immediate effect.”
Odumodublvck was one of the most vocal figures in the entertainment industry backing Obi’s presidential bid.
In his verse on “Vex”, a track released in March 2023 by NATIVE Sound System, he expressed hope that Obi would “save” him.
In May 2023, the rapper rejected an invitation to perform at Tinubu’s inauguration, stating, “They did not do their research.”
As of now, Peter Obi has not responded to Odumodublvck’s demand.
While some fans sympathized with the rapper, many criticized him for attempting to pressure a politician into promoting his music.
KanyiDaily recalls that Odumodublvck recently denied rumors circulating on social media about his involvement in a recent car accident.
